INGREDIENTS: SERVES 1:
- Porridge oats: 25 g
- Chopped hazelnuts: 8.5 g
- Semi-skimmed milk: 125 ml
- Icing sugar: 8.5 g
- 1 Honeycrunch apple
- Ground cinnamon: 1 g
- Unsalted butter: 3.5 g
- Caster sugar: 16.5 g
For the Porridge:
Place the porridge oats and milk in a saucepan and cook over a low heat for about 10 mins. Stir until thickened and remove from heat.
Add the sugar and chopped hazelnuts.
Stir again. Spoon into 6 small bowls and leave to cool
For the Apples
Peel and core the apples and slice fairly thinly. Pour the sugar into a hot saucepan and melt it to make caramel. Add a knob of butter, the apples and the cinnamon.
Cook for two mins without stirring, then stir gently to coat the apple slices in caramel. Continue to cook for about 20 mins.
Arrange the apple on top of the porridge and serve immediately.
